Meet The Captains
Captain Matt Blood
Captain Matt is the owner and operator of Sea Charleston Charters, and you can frequently find him around the Charleston area, and throughout Charleston’s waterways. He grew up on the water in Savannah, Ga, where he found his passion for anything water-related. Before starting SCC, Captain Matt was a rescue swimmer and boarding team officer in the United States Coast Guard, leading dozens of search and rescue and migrant missions in the Atlantic and Pacific.
Once his tour was complete, Captain Matt graduated from the College of Charleston with his BS in Science, concentrating on Marketing/Business. There, he delved into the medical industry, where he spends most of his current career. Captain Matt has developed a passion for meeting new people, sharing his experiences in Charleston and the beautiful beaches along the coast, while entertaining guests along the way. Whether you want to explore the breathtaking Charleston harbor or want to take in the sights and enjoy a relaxing private business cruise or a date-night, Captain Matt can help you plan the perfect itinerary for your special day at the Charleston Waters.

Captain Robert Sullivan
Captain Robert Sullivan has had a love for the water his entire life. He grew up in Charlottesville, VA where his father, who is also an avid boater, started taking him out on the family boat at a very early age. He went to summer camp in the mountains of North Carolina where he got into whitewater canoeing and kayaking. In high school he went on many kayaking adventures on the James River and the waters of West Virginia. Once he moved to Charleston, he got on the water at every chance he could get. Robert now owns a 23' Sportsman, which he uses to attempt to fish and go out with his friends in and around the Charleston harbor.
Captain Robert also has a love for snow skiing, which took him to the University of Montana, in Missoula, Montana. He got a B.S. in Business Marketing and a minor in Communication Studies. Robert has been in commercial real estate brokerage since 2016 and is involved in several business organizations around town. Commerce and economics have always been of interest to him, which has fueled his career. When Robert is not on the water or working, he is an avid golfer and has recently developed an interest in sporting clays.
